The interim analysis of the study of Rituxan therapy in people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis has yielded positive results when compared with the previous instance where patients did not react adequately to the treatment with TNF antagonist therapies. With Rituxan, patients achieved ACR 20, 50 or 70. One hundred and fifty five patients wee administered Rituxan along with a stable dose of MTX and patients administered with first course of Rituxan in a Phase II or Phase III study could only receive additional open-label treatment courses depending upon discretion of the physician. At the end of twenty four weeks it was found that patients who were treated with Rituxan and MTX found the treatment beneficial.
