Researchers have found out that Resveratrol found in peanuts, natural foods, grape skins and red wines holds the secret for a happy and long life. A study conducted on mice confirmed this fact. A number of biotechnology companies are working to develop a treatment which would create the effect of resveratrol. Though researchers are still far off from making developments in this area but currently a company known as Sirtris Pharmaceuticals is working towards testing how safe resveratrol treatment is in case of diabetes patients. This compound has also been found out to prolong the life of organisms such as roundworms, yeast and fruit flies. Though a number of health food stores are selling resveratrol but it’s still unsure whether this compound would produce the same effect as it produced in mice and what could be the long term repercussions.
